Join the To Be Read network
If you are a freelance creative professional looking to source new clients, you can apply to join the To Be Read network today. Accepted members will be added to our directory, and we will refer suitable clients dependent on your pricing and availability.
Terms of Inclusion
All network members are offered a contract with terms open to negotiation from both parties, but To Be Read's main proposed terms are:
- Contracts are signed with the understanding that client referrals from To Be Read to network members are subject to supply and demand and are therefore not guaranteed.
- Unless otherwise agreed, network member's client contracts are their responsibility as sole traders. To Be Read can provide guidance on terms for client contract work, but once the referral is complete, all work – including invoicing and payment – should be worked out between members and clients directly.
- As providing affordable support to writers is an integral part of what we do, we ask that To Be Read network members offer pay-what-you-can, discounted or pro-bono services and/or resources if and when possible. We appreciate that your time and expertise is valuable, so we can negotiate this dependent on your schedule.
- Cross-promotion and referrals are how we keep To Be Read thriving, so please do mention your membership on your social media and website and we'll do the same.
- If (or when) necessary, supplementary non-disclosure, non-compete & no-conflict contract addenda will be put in place. For example, in the event that you agree to provide editorial support on industry client projects – such as reading through unsolicited manuscripts – and there are concerns of breaches in confidentiality etc.
